The representatives of the Municipality of Souda are elected by the people through a direct, secret and catholic voting every 4 years, as it happens in all Local Administration Organizations. The elected representatives are: the Mayor or deputy Mayor for the Municipality, the President and vice-President for the communities, and the members of the Municipal Council, the Mayor's Commission, and the Community Council for the communities. The Mayor and President execute the decisions of the municipal and community councils, supervise the services of the Municipality or the Community and represent the people.

In the Municipality of Souda there are the Local Districts of Tsikalaria and Aptera. The representatives of these districts are the council of each district and their Presidents.
