Despotiko

It was built in the beginning of our century and became the habitation and office of the mechanic Mihalis Savakis, who designed the building himself. The building is a three-story villa, it is influenced by styles and standards from abroad, and it has the morphology of a tower. It is surrounded by a garden with palm trees.
In1917, the villa was sold to the Church and since then it has become the habitation of the Eparch of Kydonia and Apokoronas.
The building has suffered several damages through time, especially during the WW2 bombings. However, it is still one of the most beautiful and characteristic buildings of the city.
