'Stivanadika'
"Stivanadika" refers to the word "stivania", the traditional Cretan boots which are the trademark of the Cretan male costume. "Stivanadika" is located on the street Skrydlof behind the Municipal Market. "Stivanadika" is a commercial area with a feeling of traditional bazaars, where you can find other (mainly leather) folk art goods. In the old times, this is where they made and sold "stivania". Nowadays, in "stivanadika" you can find high quality leather goods and souvenirs.
At the entrance of the street Skrydlof there are the ruins of an old Venetian wall extending to the south, lengthwise the street "Halidon". However, it is not visible because the stores of the street "Hatzimihali Giannari" block its view.
