Ο Δήμαρχος Χανίων Κυριάκος Βιρβιδάκης στα πλαίσια της 6ης Συνόδου Προέδρων Αρχιτεκτονικών σχολών της Ευρώπης 3/9/2003 έως 6/9/2003 στο ΚΑΜ πραγματοποίησε τον παρακάτω χαιρετισμό: Mr Chairman , Dear Deans of the various Architectural schools of Europe I welcome you all in our city and I wish you a pleasant stay. I would like to extend a special welcome to tonight’s guest speaker distinguished Professor John Habraken. Members of this conference, the purpose of your meeting that is to coordinate the architectural education in the various schools in Europe is indeed a very important and a very difficult one. I wish you the best of success. Last but not least I know that our group together with KAM, the Mediterranean Center of Architecture, have been very instrumental in the development of an Architectural school in Hania. Tonight as mayor of Hania, I would like to thank you for your effort and I am also in the pleasant position to tell you that Hania will have a school of Architecture starting in the fall of 2004. Also as mayor of Chania and as assistant professor of Medicine, I hope that next year or the year after we will have the pleasure to tell you that Chania will have a school of Biomedical Technology. I am sure that we can count in your help so that our new school will become a great one. Once again I welcome you and I wish you a pleasant and productive conference.
